Job Summary:

Welcome to the Cashier Receptionist position at KAISER where you'll be an essential member of the healthcare team! Your main task is to greet and check-in patients at the medical office in a professional and courteous manner. Your role involves accurate check-in, check-out, information capture, and revenue collection as per procedures. Being knowledgeable about the medical center is key to assist patients with their queries and concerns, and extensive use of the computer is required.

Essential Responsibilities:

• Reception, Check-ln, Check-out (where applicable)
• Welcome and assist patients
• Follow patient registration/check-in policies and procedures
• Verify/update demographic information
• Understand Health Plan coverage types
• Manage electronic in-basket
• Collect co-pays and fees
• Generate encounter forms
• Assist and guide patients
• Explain co-pays/fees, provide directions and referrals
• Demonstrating knowledge of Patient Administration systems
• Maintain patient will-call area
• Communicate with staff
• Cash Handling, Reconciliation and Deposit
• Follow all cash handling policies
• Ensure safekeeping of funds and documents
• Other: Working towards positive operational outcomes

Grade 3

Basic Qualifications:

Experience:

• Six (6) months work experience
• Experience requirement waived for current KP Coalition employees

Education:

• High School Diploma/GED

License, Certification, Registration:

• N/A

• Basic computer knowledge
• Good PC skills
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Professional phone etiquette
• Multi-tasking and time management skills
• Knowledge of computers and keyboards
• Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment
