    Description

    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Emergency Department / ER Nurse (RN) to join our team at an academic medical center in Columbia, MD. The ideal candidate will have experience in caring for psychiatric patients, trauma, or other high-acuity areas and possess strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

    Responsibilities:

    • Serve as the first line of defense for patients requiring urgent medical care
    • Treat patients suffering from trauma, injury, or severe medical conditions
    • Quickly assess patients' needs and prioritize care
    • Monitor patient health conditions, administer medications, and operate medical equipment
    • Participate in emergency situations such as code blue
    • Collaborate with physicians to develop care plans and determine discharge or extended hospital stay arrangements

    Requirements:

    • ADN or higher degree in nursing
    • Active Registered Nurse license
    • 1+ years of ER experience preferred
    • ACLS, PALS certification preferred
    • Experience with advanced medical equipment and procedures
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
