    is actively seeking an experienced, energetic, self-starting team member with a strong electrical engineering background to perform engineering activities for electrical substations.

    Classified as an Electrical Engineer II or III, this individual will work with our Substation design teams out of our Power Delivery Substation Department in our Richmond, Virginia office.

    A hybrid and/or in-office work environment is preferred however, a remote role may be considered and is dependent on the individual's level of experience and proven ability to work remotely.

    Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe Electrical Engineer will share responsibility with the rest of the department to produce a product consistent with POWER's mission statement and our culture.

    The Electrical Engineer is expected to support the Department Manager/Area Lead (DM/AL) in achieving the goals of the department, maintain POWER's high-quality standards, promote internal teamwork and meet the needs of our clients.

    This position is also responsible assisting with developing, maintaining and strengthening client relationships within the region.

    BSEE (BS Electrical Engineering), BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, or equivalent technical educationThree (3) or more years of experience in substation designExperience in 15kV through 230kV substation design and IEEE/ANSI standardsExperience filling the role of electrical engineer for several substation projects occurring concurrentlyExperience with Microsoft Office Suite, with an emphasis on Excel and WordDemonstrate the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, tracking and organizing many tasks of varying importance and sizeProven ability and desire to mentor and help othersA strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelCandidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S.
