JOB DESCRIPTION
The Therapy Support Specialist is an integral part of the Rehabilitation Therapy team and plays an integral role in the overall patient experience.
They are a key contributor to delivering high quality customer service to our patients and visitors that is caring, consistent and reliable.
The incumbent provides administrative support in the clinical setting to patients, families, members of the care team and administrative leaders to ensure the smooth operation of a Rehabilitation Therapy practice.
Key responsibilities include:
patient check-in and scheduling, referrals, prior authorizations, telephone service and other administrative support as assigned.
EDUCATION:
H.S. Diploma or equivalent required; Coursework in administrative or medical sciences preferred.
EXPERIENCE:
Proven customer service experience is required. Must be a team player who is flexible, willing to adapt to change and demonstrates strong attention-to-detail. Must be able to multi-task, work independently and have solid organizational skills. Must have strong computer skills along with the ability to learn new computer programs. The successful candidate demonstrates initiative, possesses a process-improvement mindset and has excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience in a medical environment, patient scheduling, registration and/or data entry are preferred.
