    Job DescriptionFranklin Pierce University Admissions – Graduate Assistant

    The Franklin Pierce Admissions team is actively seeking a qualified candidate for the position of Graduate Assistant. This two-year position offers valuable experience, including tuition remission and an annual stipend of $8,000. Please note that housing is not included, and acceptance is contingent upon successful admission to the University's Graduate School.

    Position Summary:
    Admissions Graduate Assistants report to the Vice President of Enrollment, and the Associate Director of Enrollment Operations, and are important members of the University's recruitment efforts. Admissions GA's enhance the influence of the University by permitting staff members to reach many more graduate and undergraduate students than their own time and resources would allow. Admissions GA's are responsible for oversight of Student Ambassadors and coordinating hosts for our Overnight Program.

    Typical Schedule:
    This is an exempt position. Different departments have different expectations for their graduate students. The Admissions Graduate Assistants generally work 4 days during the week, plus occasional weekends and evenings as needed for Visitation Events. In some instances, a week's work could be less than 20 hours; at other times, it may require more. The nature of visitation demand will determine the quantity of time required.

    General Responsibilities of the Position:
    • Oversight of Student Ambassadors
    • Assist with recruitment and hiring of new Student Ambassadors
    • Assist with the development of training materials
    • Posting student schedules via Shifts in Microsoft Teams
    • Meet with prospective students and families to answer questions about Franklin Pierce University
    • Create/produce correspondence, reports, manuals, etc.
    • Participate in visitation programming including small and large recruitment events such as the Overnight Program, Spring and Winter Open Houses, and Fall Tour & Tailgate events
    • Answer telephones and greet students, vendors, faculty, staff, and visitors
    • Facilitate campus tours on a strictly as-needed basis
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Position Requirements/Skills/Abilities:
    Bachelor's degree and acceptance into one of Franklin Pierce University's graduate programs. The candidate must also have broad-based experience with Microsoft office software.
