We are looking for MOSSA Group Active and Group Power Instructors to join our team. We have availability for morning and evenings classes. Must have certification to apply to this position.
MAIN FUNCTION:
The Group Exercise Instructor (GEI) is ultimately responsible for delivering each group exercise class participant a world-class, highly motivating and well-organized experience. This is inclusive of delivering safe and effective formats in all class categories. The GEI must be inspiring, outgoing, personable and have the ability to motivate members of varying ages and ability levels. Dependability is paramount as is the ability to be flexible and accommodating in order to consistently offer a robust schedule of classes.

REPORTS TO: Group Exercise and Programming Managers
DIRECT REPORTS: Group Exercise Coordinator, Aquatic Supervisor, Group Exercise Instructors
POSITION EXPECTATIONS:
Applied
- Demonstrates the ability to deliver a first-class member experience in all group exercise classes including, but not limited to instructor performance, studio ambiance, equipment standards and overall level of energy and engagement.
- Contributes to the culture within the Group Exercise Department that promotes a tribe-mentality for members and class participants; a warm, welcoming feel that motivates and inspires others to strive towards reaching their highest potential.
- Displays an expertise in class formatting, choreography, and management.
- Competent with providing programming for all appropriate age and ability levels.
- Commits to excellence by maintaining current certifications, attending continuing education seminars, and reviewing industry literature.
- Routinely contributes to maintaining a clean and sanitary studio environment; including sanitizing equipment after use, properly storing equipment, and notifying management if equipment repairs are needed.
Administrative
- Demonstrates competency in systems such as: class scheduling, instructor communication, member tracking software
- Show regular compliance with a structured shift or class substitution policy and procedure to avoid service interruption and assure a consistent and reliable program schedule.
- Demonstrate willingness to fill substitution requests and cross-train instructing abilities to cover similar classes
- Assist, as assigned, in the delivery of any Club events for members and/or the community
Management
- Proficient with all current facility policies and procedures and ensures all operations and practices of the department satisfy those policies and procedures.
- Displays the ability to enforce all class rules consistently and in a courteous manner.
General
- Consistently meets and/or exceeds the Club/Department performance objectives and Key Performance Indicators as outlined in the Annual Strategic Plan.
- Demonstrates the desire to continually improve areas of the business by identifying an area for improvement, devising a solution, then implementing a plan
- Routinely achieves a high-level of organizational alignment, plays a vital role in realizing a Culture of Excellence and adheres to the IWP Code of Conduct.
- Accepts constructive criticism/direction and effectively changes own performance.
- Passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of others and able to lead by example by living a healthy and active lifestyle.

QualificationsEDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
HIRING REQUIREMENTS:
- Current Group Mossa certification (Group Active/Power Only)
- Certifications such as, but not limited to: Specialty class instruction certifications, BLS/AED
- No written disciplinary action within the last 12 months
- Pass Background Check
- Eligible to work in the United States
PREFERRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:
- Excellent interpersonal skills needed for exemplary customer service; outgoing, friendly, and compassionate.
- Displays the characteristics of a skilled instructor; an enthusiasm for teaching, a passion for connecting with others, and the ability to consistently deliver an elite-level performance.
- Experience in a boutique fitness studio setting
