- Provide technical support for automated manufacturing equipment. (electrical, mechanical, programming, etc.)
- Identify opportunities to improve quality and efficiency of the manufacturing process (continuous improvement) and implement improvement projects.
- Lead root-cause investigation and corrective action formulation as it relates to manufacturing equipment and systems.
- Coordinate support and project efforts with other engineers, technicians, and managers.
- Develop work instructions and procedures for operating equipment.
- Train operators, technicians, and other employees as necessary.
- Utilize Computer Aided Design (CAD) software to review components and implement improvements.
- Assist in designing, delivering, and validating new equipment and upgrades.
- Develop and execute validation protocols for equipment.
- Prepare interim and final status reports of engineering activities and projects to management and customers.
- Develop and prepare quotations for automation equipment and upgrades to existing equipment. To include cost evaluation and return on investment (ROI) estimates.
- Develop and maintain relationships with outside suppliers and customers.
- Travel when necessary. Typically, less than 10% travel.
- Complies with company, quality and safety standards, policies, and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or similar field
- Minimum of 2 years of engineering experience.
- Working knowledge and experience work with and troubleshooting PLCs, sensors, drives, motors, pneumatics, relays, and other electro-mechanical systems.
- Ability to interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical issues using a multi-meter.
- 5 years of experience in a high volume component manufacturing.
- Machine vision, Human Machine Interface (HMI), and robotics experience
- Experience designing mechanical components using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software. Preferably SolidWorks.

JOB SUMMARY
The Manufacturing Automation Engineer reports to the Engineering Manager, Automation and is responsible for providing production and project support to help achieve Cirtec Medical's business and performance objectives. Success in this role is characterized by strong troubleshooting abilities of electro-mechanical equipment, consistent ability to identify continuous improvement opportunities, ability to manage and implement projects, clear operational thinking, and an ability to build relationships across broad stakeholders' groups and engineering delivery excellence.
