    Job Responsibilities:

    Dispatcher

    Are you passionate about construction logistics and adept at managing trucking operations? We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Dispatcher to join our team. As a Dispatcher, you will play a crucial role in planning day-to-day trucking and equipment moves, ensuring smooth material deliveries, and maintaining compliance with all legal and regulatory agencies. Your expertise will serve as a vital link between our drivers, operations team, management, and customers, offering valuable assistance for all transportation and material needs.

    Responsibilities:

  • Efficiently Manage Trucking and Equipment Moves: Your keen eye for detail and proficiency with Samsara Software will enable you to create, monitor, and update driver schedules and equipment movements effectively. You'll play a pivotal role in optimizing trucking operations for maximum efficiency.
  • Ensure Regulatory Compliance: With your in-depth understanding of Federal, State, and Local regulations, you will oversee the compliance of driver logbooks, daily and nightly inspections, and adherence to Class A CDL Driver Hours of Service and other DOT regulations.
  • Prioritize Safety: Safety is our top priority. You will perform Task Hazard Analysis and conduct Weekly Toolbox Talks for all dump truck drivers, fostering a culture of safety and awareness.
  • Manage Administrative Tasks: Keeping up with administrative tasks is crucial to the success of our operations. You will approve driver time sheets daily, maintain DOT logbooks, provide PRT's and obtain Purchase Order from procurement and handle any required permits efficiently.
  • Manage Storage Facilities: This position will require some local travel daily to our storage yard off Scottsville Road to organize and manage where materials and equipment are stored.Monitor and organize materials and small tools stored within the shop area located at the main office.

  • Relevant Work Experience: Demonstrating your expertise in construction and trucking operations.
  • Team Player: As a valuable member of our team, we expect you to bring a professional, positive attitude and good work ethics to the table.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential. As a self-starter, you should be able to prioritize tasks and handle multiple responsibilities with ease.
  • Effective Communication: Excellent communication and problem-solving skills are necessary to coordinate with drivers, operations team, management, subcontractors and customers effectively.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: You should have a clear understanding of Class A CDL Driver Hours of Service and other DOT regulations, always ensuring compliance and safety.
  • Computer Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) is required to handle documentation and communication ability to learn Samsara software and utilize it as it applies to this position.
  • Preferred:

  • Trucking Expertise: Understanding lowboy and flatbed trailer configurations, as well as multi-axle vehicles, will be advantageous for this role.
  • Heavy Construction Experience: Previous experience in heavy construction will be highly valued, showcasing your understanding of the industry.
  • Educational Background: While a 2-year degree is preferred, a High School Diploma or GED is required.
