- Accountable for drug storage, count, and administration (30% Weight)
- Administer prescribed medications as ordered by the physician.
- Maintain clinical competencies specific to the Adult/Geriatric/Medical Psychiatric population.
- Transcribe physician orders accurately.
- Participate in treatment team meetings and treatment planning meetings.
- Assist with client assistance program.
- Conduct educational groups daily as scheduled.
- Provide basic nursing care within the scope of practice and in compliance with policies, procedures, and standards (30% Weight)
- Conduct assessments, treatment plans, and document in patient chart promptly.
- Ensure lab work and x-rays are done as ordered and reported.
- Perform admissions, discharges, and transfers according to facility procedures.
- Report clients' medical needs to the charge nurse/physician.
- Document client care accurately and participate in treatment.
- Report behavioral changes promptly.
- Participate in treatment planning and progress review meetings.
- Provide quality client care by complying with orders and treatment plans.
- Assist with client transportation as required.
- Audit chart information for compliance and report discrepancies.
- Conduct education groups daily as scheduled and document.
- Maintain knowledge of Psychiatric theories, chemical dependency, and practices for patient care and treatment (20% Weight)
- Attend all in-service meetings and complete required annual tests.
- Demonstrate ability to carry out responsibilities for drills, codes, and orientation.
- Keep CPR, CPI, and nurse licensure certifications current.
- Perform other duties and projects as required (20% Weight)
- Respond to inquiry calls and provide information to physician and Program Director.

JOB PURPOSE: Perform routine nursing responsibilities in caring for Adult Medical Psychiatric clients within the scope of nursing licensure and guidelines set by physicians, treatment team, and clinical staff.

Work is of medium demand. Prolonged standing and walking; Continuous talking; Occasional lifting; pushing; pulling; Frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, crouching actions; Near visual acuity; Frequent, repetitive digital and hand actions.
