    Program Manager / Project Manager – Actuarial Team

    Location:
    Minneapolis, MN (Onsite 3 days/week - Local candidates only)

    Duration:

    6 months with very high likelihood of extension through end of 2024

    Hours/Week:

    40 hours

    $ $75.00/hour

    W2 Only (No 1099's or Corp to Corp)


    Scope of Services:


    This multifaceted role involves a 50% allocation as a Program Manager and 50% as a Project Manager, providing crucial support to the Actuarial Team.

    As a Project Manager, the focus is on overseeing an infrastructure upgrade initiative for multiple servers integral to month-end and year-end processing for the actuarial department.

    Simultaneously, in the role of Program Manager, responsibilities include offering program-level support for four Agile teams. This encompasses preparation for governance reviews, cross-team risk and issue management, financial governance, and metric establishment. The Agile teams' purview extends to profitability management, asset liability management, and App Dev deliverables.

    Key aspects involve managing project financials for multiple workstreams, collaborating with stakeholders across diverse areas to align on scope, delivery schedule, and risk management.

    The candidate should bring over 10 years of experience in successfully managing IT projects, a solid background in both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies, and expertise in risk management techniques.

    Strong communication skills, adaptability in an ambiguous environment, and experience with Microsoft Project and Change Management are essential. Ideally, familiarity with life insurance, annuities, or actuarial systems would be advantageous.


    Essential Functions:


    This role is a multi-faceted role that includes 50% allocation as a Program Manager and 50% as a Project Manager supporting the Actuarial Team.

    The Project Manager function will support an infrastructure initiative to upgrade multiple servers that provide month end and year processing for the actuarial department.

    The Program Manager function will provide program level support for four Agile teams to include preparation for governance review

    (Steering/Operating

    Committee, Portfolio), cross team risk/issue management, financial governance and establishing metrics. Span of the Agile teams includes profitability management, asset liability management, and App Dev deliverables.
    Manage project financials supporting multiple workstreams/teams to include estimates, change orders and forecast.
    Partner with varied stakeholders across multiple workstreams to align on scope, delivery schedule, risks and issues.


    Knowledge, Skill & Competency Requirements:
    Experience with both Agile and Waterfall delivery methodologies to include SAFE and hybrid models.

    Strong communication and influencing skills at all levels within the organization, with emphasis on senior leaders, while operating in an ambiguous environment.

    Experienced in formal techniques of risk management.
    Excellent organizational skills.
    Experience with Microsoft Project
    Experience in Change Management


    Education & Experience:
    10+ years of experience managing and delivering successful IT projects.
    Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
    Life Insurance and annuity experience as well familiarity with actuarial department or systems is preferred.
    Technical acumen with a complex test environment framework, driving continuous improvement and innovative solutions facilitating senior leader engagement.
