    Job Summary

    The Project Planner/Scheduler will work with multiple project managers and multiple projects simultaneously. Works closely with Project Managers and maximize labor resource pool usage. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and should be able to navigate effectively and efficiently in a matrixed environment with competing priorities.

    Essential Functions
    • Review a customers RFP to identify major milestones, due dates, and work dependencies
    • Establish a task structure to accomplish required work products while balancing resources, duration, and work constraints
    • Develop options for crashing or adjusting schedules to meet project timeline requirements
    • Establishes and manages to master schedule, makes updates based on business input
    • Develop and communicate labor forecast models and schedules to appropriate stakeholders
    • Reviews and compares staffing plans against daily tasks forecast, and provide data to Program Manager and supporting functional teams, along with recommendations for remedies where appropriate
    • Identifies resource coverage gaps and work with the Program Manager, or other supporting functional managers, to resolve
    • Establishes and maintains appropriate task code structure, task relationships, and task assignments to drive project to on-time completion
    • Develop and track labor budgets and project plans and communicate any discrepancies in a timely fashion
    • Monitor performance against schedules, including a close oversight of the critical path, across multiple projects
    • Ability to explain labor hour cost and schedule variances
    • Establish, prepare, and communicate updated labor estimates-at-completion based on current work plans
    • Work closely with PM to create workaround plans to recover variances and mitigate risks
    • Provide timely status completion reports for tasks and scheduled activities
      • Weekly status reports
      • Planned activity forecasts
      • Objective completion status report
      • Performance metrics report, time to complete, forecast vs actuals, schedule compliance, etc.
    • Provide reporting and visibility to all levels within the organization about metric performance, including, but not limited to service levels, daily measured statistics, such as schedule adherence, occupancy, etc.
    • Must demonstrate regular and predictable attendance for planned work hours
    Competencies
    • Highly proficient with Microsoft Project Manager (MPM), including all duration, fixed unit, or fixed work scheduling techniques and proper techniques for crashing schedules
    • Excellent customer service and communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels within the organization
    • Experience managing schedules driven by a waterfall software delivery lifecycle
    • Proven ability to organize and prioritize diverse, multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
    • Familiarity with Microsoft environments including Office applications
    • Must possess an energetic, problem-solving, detail oriented, pro-active, and self-starting work ethic and a strong sense of urgency
    • Experience with Primavera P6 a plus
    Experience and Skills
    Required Education and Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics, Supply Chain, or related field
    • Proficient in Excel, including advanced tools (pivot tables, Look-up functions, etc.) for efficient data summary and analysis
    • 1 year experience with MS Project Server required
    • 1-3 years cost/scheduling experience with automated tools such as Primavera, Open Plan, Cobra and Deltek
    • 5 + years experience with Microsoft Project Manager
    Preferred Education and Experience
    • Earned Value Management System (EVMS) and Cost Control background a plus
    • Experience in scheduling and controlling software development projects a plus
    • SDLC knowledge preferred
    • Financial background experience is a plus
