- Salary range from $25 to $30 per hour based on experience

- Conduct necessary inspections and preventive maintenance on vehicles and equipment within scheduled timeframes to enhance safety, reliability, and cost-efficiency during the fleet's lifespan
- Perform FAI/CVI (Annual) inspections on all fleet vehicles encompassing tractors, trailers, converter dollies, light-duty vehicles, and any other company-owned equipment in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Execute quality preventive maintenance inspections following company protocols on all fleet vehicles such as tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift-gates, light-duty vehicles, and other company-owned equipment
- Perform top-notch maintenance repairs as needed to optimize safety and reliability on all fleet vehicles including tractors, trailers, converter dollies, lift gates, light-duty vehicles, and other company-owned equipment
- Address Driver Vehicle Inspection Report write-ups promptly and effectively
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs up to manufacturer standards, covering engines, transmissions, clutches, drive-line, differential, steering and suspension, fuel and ignition system, exhaust systems, intake systems, electrical systems, brake systems, HVAC systems, and lift-gate hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical systems
- Adhere to procedures by documenting all work completed on work orders
- Acquire proficiency in Sysco computer programs
- Skilled in electrical meter testing
- Knowledgeable in controls and electric (DC low voltage)
- Electric motor expertise (DC)
- Conduct electrical repairs and welding projects when necessary
- Medium / Heavy Duty truck technical training
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 2-year school and 1 year of experience or 3 years of experience in fleet maintenance and repair
- Current and valid driver's license
- Annual Inspector Certification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Brake Inspector Certification, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- ASE certifications; Automotive or Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks (Preferred, Not Required)
- 609 HVAC Certification
- Proficient in computer-based diagnostic software for OEMs and component manufacturers
- Must have own and provide all tools necessary for maintenance, repair, and diagnostics
- Expertise in all vehicle systems and components
- Knowledgeable in electrical systems diagnosis and repair
- Skilled in Preventive Maintenance Inspections and repair
- Basic skills in welding and cutting (gas, electric, MIG, TIG)
- Basic computer knowledge
- Moderate knowledge of all DOT (FMCSA) regulations
- Basic understanding of OSHA safety regulations
- Basic understanding of environmental regulations
- Excellent hand and finger dexterity required for repair work using wrenches, hand tools, and shop equipment
- Specific vision abilities needed include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Ability to operate various equipment
- Capable of standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching
- Able to push/pull, lift/carry, and grasp tools
- Proficient in Repetitive motion like using wrenches and hand tools
- Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands and fingers to operate a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone
- Frequently required to sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, crawl
- Occasionally required to lift and move up to 100 lbs
- Occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold, and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; may need to work in confined spaces
- Non-traditional business hours including evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call
- Occasional travel may be necessary to other Operating Companies or the corporate office as required
- Exposed to high, precarious places, confined spaces, fumes, or airborne particles
- Moderate noise level in the work environment; outdoor work frequent
- Provision of personal protective equipment and masks
- Temperature screenings
- Enforcement of social distancing guidelines
- Implementation of sanitizing, disinfecting, and cleaning procedures
