    Technical and solutions manager of program management responsible for program managing agile cross functional team of Systems and SW Engineers, Test Engineers, Operations, etc.

    from initial concept to deployment. Meets complex program goals for product performance, quality goals, regulatory compliance requirements, cost, schedule, and development budget.

    Responsible for working with Product Management, Marketing and Customer Experience Designer (CxD) to define the product with a customer first mindset, solidify the business case, and author the product and experience specifications.

    Given our multitude of design and development partners, you will participate with negotiations involving Business Development and Legal.

    Location- ***Role is required to be onsite in Lincolnshire, IL office (Hybrid- Minimum of 4 days in the office per week)


    Responsibilities:
    Functional leadership of program management teams with direct supervision of level 1, 2 and senior PM's.

    Independently drives team growth and development plans and supports individual's execution of development activities such as training, mentorships, and guiding growth opportunities for high potentials. Team leadership for scaled Agile cross-functional innovation teams.

    Contribute to and promote the development of agile skillset and capabilities within Zebra.

    Execute multiple limited scope projects simultaneously or a large program with senior manager's guidance utilizing modern project management methodologies to ensure maximum project effectiveness.

    Demonstrates the ability to see cross-functional impacts of decisions and project plans and execution. Balances scope, schedule and budget considerations to adjust the project with minimal impact to the business.

    Understands the business objectives of the program and assumes personal accountability for success of the program against those objectives. Lead the program management for Enterprise Thermal Printers and Data Capture Imagers for new product development and lifecycle management, defining Firmware program structures and aligning cross-program Firmware dependencies inclusive of structuring Firmware Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM) models. Organize and lead solution teams in projects.

    Can include leading scrum teams as a release train engineer (RTE)

    Drive execution of solutions inclusive of concept definition, requirements validation, architecture specification, and governance compliance to our Zebra Lifecycle Management framework.

    Ability to translate customer problems into solution requirements.


    Leads system integration planning, release management, and planning for demonstrations, proof of concepts, pilots, minimal viable products, and iterative feature delivery. Leads firmware and software development as part of a larger solution aligning to hardware milestones Leads creating cross functional workstreams and driving execution for sales enablement, development and deployment. Work closely with global partners, including Joint Development Manufacturing (JDM), to build the relationship, negotiate alongside business development & legal, and execute the solution. Independently building relationships and working across all relevant areas of the solution business including Sales, Services, IT, Finance, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Support. Works independently with business professionals in defining proof of value and customer return on investment.

    Organizes and presents business, technical and program reviews/status to Senior Leadership using digital media, dashboards and JIRA agile project management tools.

    Independently executed program plans and budgets for multiple small and large projects. Recommend corrective actions and implement changes. Identify and mitigate risks; develop and implement risk mitigation plans. Owns ensuring alignment from key leaders of milestone achievement before moving the program forward.

    May lead multiple limited to moderate scope projects simultaneously or manage a larger program directly. Programs may be moderate to complex in nature or one large program with cross-functional teams in numerous locations and time zones

    Recognized as an "expert" in the business function and processes in which the program is operating

    Motivate a project team to ensure solutions are reliable and of quality, in a highly collaborative fashion

    Demonstrates the ability to see cross-functional impacts of decisions and project plans and execution.

    Balances scope, schedule and budget considerations to adjust the project with minimal impact to the business. Understands the business objectives of the program and assumes personal accountability for success of the program against those objectives.

    Expertise in RISK Management. Independently coordinates deliverables and project assets to assist the project team. Personally, anticipates and addresses obstacles or issues that are moderate to significant in severity and escalates complex issues to management for assistance. Independently engages additional resources as needed to address obstacles or delays. Adjusts the plan, per management guidelines, as delays or obstacles are experienced.

    Demonstrates advanced understanding of development processes and product launch scope and activities

    No supervision by management is expected in this position for complex or novel problems.

    Coach or act as escalation point for Senior Program Managers or grades below

    Supports early stage go to market activities and transition to marketing

    Develop and protect intellectual property; be well versed with IP fundamentals.

    Explore and understand competitive landscape in both product and business terms

    Define strategic initiatives to align the business to agile product development.

    Work closely with Portfolio Management to ensure strategic goals align and are represented in the innovation feature roadmap. Assist in the development of business plans, strategies and approaches to take advantage of business opportunities.

    Initiate strategic partnerships with technology companies (including startups) that are developing adjacent new cutting-edge solution elements. Partner with Zebra Ventures to identify entities that are added value to Zebra's business and solutions.

    Qualifications:

    Required Qualifications:

    Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related technical field 8+ years of engineering/Program management experience for customer facing products in fast paced environment including minimum 2+ years as team lead /supervisor.

    Experience in firmware development in multiple Operating Systems with proficiencies in C, Python and Lua, with a focus on IOT

    Experience in improving/re-writing firmware or software algorithms Experience designing GUI architecture and working alongside graphics designer


    Expertise managing technical regulatory requirements such as EU RED/CRA Expertise managing dependencies between mobile / desktop / cloud applications and firmware.

    Past responsibility for multiple significant delivered-to-market solutions in asset intelligence (Location Services, Machine Learning, Machine Vision, Artificial Intelligence).

    Preferred Qualifications:
    Master's degree preferred. Strong strategic leadership and analytical skills

    Excellent written and oral communication skills


    Solid critical thinking and questioning skills in technical and non-technical discussions Experience in managing and gelling different methodologies (Kanban, Scrum, SAFe, Waterfall) Experience leading large cross-functional teams including Software/Firmware Engineering, Product Management, Product Owners, Systems Engineering, external contractors and JDM partners.

    Self-motivated, results driven, manages risks, and thrives in an environment of uncertainty and continuous innovation. Able to drive definition and creation of solutions from skeleton use cases Experienced team builder, skilled at collaboration and managing resources; proven interpersonal skills

    Experience with software development best practices including Scaled Agile, TDD and Continuous Integration; a track record of applying these methodologies


    Experience working independently and as part of a team to solve difficult technical, quality, cost, and schedule challenges; well versed in risk management practices Experience using and promoting Artificial Intelligence tools to improve time to market, customer value, team productivity and efficiencies Location- ***Role is required to be onsite in Lincolnshire, IL office (Hybrid- Minimum of 4 days in the office per week).

    Salary:
