Job Title: Part-Time Engineer (Maintenance Technician)
Location: AC Hotel Pasadena
Schedule: Part-Time | Flexible Hours | 24/7 Operation
At AC Hotel Pasadena, we believe every detail matters. We're looking for a skilled and service-oriented Part-Time Engineer to help maintain our modern spaces and ensure a seamless guest experience. Because our hotel operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, flexibility in shift days and hours is required.
If you're hands-on, dependable, and take pride in keeping facilities running safely and efficiently, we'd love to meet you.
What You'll Do
- Perform interior and exterior preventive maintenance, including:
- Grounds upkeep and light landscaping
- Snow removal (as needed)
- Painting, wallpapering, sheetrock and tile repair
- Changing light bulbs and cleaning HVAC filters
- Respond promptly to engineering service calls and elevator issues
- Troubleshoot and resolve maintenance concerns in a safe, courteous, and efficient manner
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and document parts used or needed
- Keep engineering areas clean, organized, and safe
- Properly use and maintain tools, equipment, and supplies
- Promptly report emergencies, injuries, damage, safety hazards, and guest concerns
- Complete shift reports as assigned
- Attend department meetings and assist with special projects as needed

- Maintain a professional appearance and wear proper uniform
- Deliver friendly, responsive service to guests and team members
- Protect guest privacy and confidentiality
- Communicate clearly and professionally
- Report guest dissatisfaction or unusual matters to management promptly
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience required
- Trade school or building maintenance training preferred
- Hospitality maintenance experience preferred
Skills & Abilities:
- Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and safety procedures
- Strong troubleshooting and basic repair skills
- Ability to use engineering tools and equipment properly
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Professional attitude with strong communication skills
- Ability to operate standard guest room equipment (TV, phone, lamp, etc.)
- Must meet all legal requirements for employment
Physical Requirements
- Extended walking, standing, bending, kneeling, climbing, pushing, and pulling
- Lifting up to 40 pounds
- Work performed indoors and outdoors
- Close vision (with or without corrective lenses)
- May require operating equipment or a motor vehicle
