    Opportunity:
    The

    WSU Children's Center

    provides a caring, safe, nurturing, relaxing, and developmentally appropriate environment for the children of students, staff, and faculty on the

    WSU Pullman Campus . The Center provide services for children age 6 weeks through 12 years (5th grade).

    As the Children's Center Director, you will lead the overall management and strategic vision for the Children's Center on the WSU Pullman Campus.

    Working with parents, staff, children, and university personnel you will provide leadership in the daily operations of the center.

    You will develop and implement an annual budget, including seeking external grants and gifts; maintain open lines of communication with parents; plan and implement marketing and relations with the university and the greater community; assess and planning for facility improvement and maintenance; ensure compliance with federal and state laws and university policy regarding center operations; and monitor compliance for national accreditation and variety of reporting needs.

    You will lead a varied staff of administrative personnel, teachers, and student employees.

    In leading center staff you will provide training and development opportunities for all staff and consult with full-time teaching staff regarding classroom curriculum, children, and parents.

    You will also oversee programs involving student employees, volunteers, and students using the center for observations, participation, or research, collaborating with Human Development faculty as needed.

    The WSU Children's Center curriculum emphasizes learning as an interactive, hands-on process in which children and families are active participants.

    As the Director you will oversee curriculum and program development to offer developmentally appropriate learning environments that meet the needs of the children and families.

    This is a full time (100% FTE), permanent position.
    This position works on-site on the WSU Pullman campus.

    Salary :
    $6, $9,403.52| The listed range is the full salary range for this positions. The expected pay range for selected candidates will be between

    $6, $7,000.00.

    Selected candidates are typically hired between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range, based on applicable experience and qualifications, market rate, internal equity, and budgetary allowances.

    In accordance with

    RCW ,

    the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position.

    Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.

    Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range. For additional information, please review

    Required Qualifications:
    Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field; including 47
    credits in early childhood education courses or DCYF State Certificate.
    Six (6) years of progressively responsible relevant experience, which includes:
    Two (2) years teaching in early care and educational classroom.

    Three (3) years of managerial experience in budgeting, program development and evaluation, licensing requirements, marketing, public relations,

    and/or

    staffing.

    One (1) year of experience in leading a childcare center.

    Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience.

    6 semester credits in Business Administration, Program Management, or State approved Director/Administrator Credential.

    DCYFBackground clearance:
    no convictions for child neglect, child abuse or physical harm to another person.
    Preferred Qualifications
    M.A. or M.S. degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, or Early Childhood Program Administration.

    Experience with university childcare setting, national accreditation, andDCYFlicensing.

    Current Pediatric first aid/CPRand Infant/ChildCPR.

    Demonstrated proficiency using software programs including word processing, Excel, email and electronic calendaring, and childcare management software.
