    Description

    JOB TITLE: Physician Assistant in Critical Care Units at Penn State Health

    Responsible for direct patient care in Critical Care Units and compliance with guidelines as outlined in the supervising agreement. Assist physicians in medical care and management of patients, such as making rounds, physical examinations, injections, wound care, and patient referrals. Expect a high degree of patient care autonomy. Work in collaboration with healthcare team members to provide specialty care to critically ill patients. Provide round-the-clock coverage, coordinating and managing critically ill patient care, including procedures like arterial lines and vent management. Weekend shifts required. Critical Care experience preferred.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree that meets State licensure requirements
    • National Certification with reciprocity and State licensure
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
