    Position Summary
    The Department of Mathematics at Utica University invites applications for a tenure-track position beginning August 1, 2024.

    Major Responsibilities
    The successful candidate will teach in a student-centered, small department and contribute to the activities of the department. Responsibilities of the position involve developing and teaching undergraduate courses in applied mathematics and general education courses. The teaching load is 12 credit hours each semester. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate education.

    Other expectations include service to the department and the university including advising mathematics majors, departmental assessment, continued development of mathematics courses (particularly in applied mathematics), supervising student projects, and university-wide committee service.

    Education & Experience Qualifications
    Candidates must have a Ph.
    D. in mathematics or applied mathematics, with preference being given to applied mathematics. ABD candidates will be considered.

    Commitment and ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds is necessary.

    Preference is given to candidates who have an active research program from any area of applied mathematics and experience teaching mathematics (as an instructor of record) at the college/university level.
