    Purpose


    We are currently seeking qualified and highly motivated individuals for the position of Global Associate Director of Scientific Communications and Medical Education (Endo-Metabolics Portfolio).

    This position is an important member of the Medical Affairs team who will drive/manage the scientific education and communication strategy, which includes publications to maximize scientific knowledge of the conditions Chiesi GRD supports and the data supporting our products, both internally and externally. The qualified candidate will be responsible for co-developing the strategic scientific communications (including publications), medical education plan and leading the corresponding tactical activities.

    This position is based in Boston, MA. It will require approximate 30% (domestic / international) travel for congresses and internal meetings.

    Main Responsibilities


    Co-lead the development and drive the execution of the scientific communication strategy and provide ideas for generating manuscripts of scientific and clinical interests

    * Engaging the key internal stakeholders of the global teams in medical team/cross functional teams to ensure the development and implementation of strategy/tactics.

    * Co-lead the implementation of the scientific communications plan and the defined scientific communication platforms, narratives, and gap analyses

    * Assist in the implement best processes and new initiatives, including digital innovations.

    * Oversee the development and implementation of the publication plan and the defined scientific communication outputs (e.g., abstracts and congress presentations etc.)

    * Assist in the creation and management of the annual budget for the scientific education and communication plan and the management of external vendors

    * Support and contribute to independent medical education (e.g., webinars) and support other medical initiatives (e.g., roundtables, advisory boards etc.) that align to the medical affairs strategy

    * Co-lead the establishment and implementation of successful internal medical education programs/initiatives with relevant internal stakeholders

    * Establish connections with regions/countries to understand insights and feedback that may impact strategy/tactics relevant for the markets.

    * Support the development of an integrated medical affairs plan

    * Provide guidance on medical/scientific review and coordination of approval process with publications in compliance with global standards (i.e., Good Publication Practice [GPP]), internal SOPs and systems (i.e., publication planning tool)

    * Support medical oversight for scientific review and coordinate the approval of medical materials in compliance with corporate standards and government/industry regulations.

    * Support meetings with external Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) to obtain insights and guidance on clearly defined scientific/medical activities or plans

    Experience Required


    Effective written and spoken communication skills in combination with the ability to analyze, summarize and communication data effectively to wide audience, as well as to think critically.

    * Support workshops or the development of key assets and plans with the different stakeholders

    * Proven planning and organizational skills with experience managing multiple priorities in combination with great attention to detail as well as the ability to prioritize in a changing environment with a sense of urgency

    * Knowledge of relevant publications related industry rules and guidelines (e.g., GPP, ICJME)

    * Strong interpersonal skills in developing and maintaining successful stakeholder relationships (internal and external)

    * Proven ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries

    * Previous experience in rare diseases and/or in the Endo Metabolic therapeutic area desirable

    Education


    Advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, or MD) with >3 years' experience in scientific communications/medical writing/publications/events/medical education OR with relevant scientific degree with >5 years experience in medical writing/publications/events/medical education or other appropriate medical affairs experience

    * Certified Medical Publication Professional(CMPP) qualified or meets the CMPP eligibility requirements to seek qualification.
