- Minimum of 5 years in practice as a Hospitalist
- Minimum of 2 years demonstrated leadership experience
- Board Certification in Internal Medicine
- Ability to maintain medical licensure in the state of New Hampshire
- Writing and reviewing policies, procedures, and protocols
- Occurrence report and patient grievance report management
- Quality assessment and quality metric oversight
- Participation in the recruiting, credentialing, and onboarding new providers
- Oversight of OPPE/FPPE/corrective action plans for providers
- Case reviews and peer reviews
- Yearly evaluations of overseen providers
- Budgeting responsibilities in partnership with the Operations team
- Performance improvement initiatives

Cheshire Medical Center, part of the
Dartmouth Health system, is seeking its next
Chair of Hospital Medicine . This role reports directly to the Chief Medical Officer and provides oversight for the clinical and administrative functions of Hospital Medicine.The Chair of Hospital Medicine position is 0.5 FTE administrative and 0.5 FTE clinical (equal to 7 shifts per month). The Chair oversees a staff of 20 FTE, including both physicians and advanced practice providers. Dedicated nocturnists are part of the group, and administrative support is provided to the Chair.Hospitalists touch about 95% of the patients seen at Cheshire Medical Center. A successful candidate will be someone who is attentive to quality and maintains strong relationships both across departments at Cheshire Medical Center and throughout the Dartmouth Health system.
