    Summary/Objective:

    The Assistant Shop Manager will be responsible for managing several shop mechanic teams in all aspects of scheduling, sourcing parts, troubleshooting, quality control, and personnel management.

    Responsibilities:

    Manage multiple teams leads and a large group of mechanics on a daily basis

    Manage the equipment from the time it arrives at the yard until it is completely ready to go back on-rent, including but not limited to:

    + Off-rent inspections, damage inspections, building repair estimates, sourcing parts, scheduling mechanics, assisting with troubleshooting, building work orders, reviewing timecards, approving POs, interviewing, hiring, training, coaching, disciplining, quality control inspections post maintenance, and all other functions and tasks as required.

    Take ownership of all problems that the teams that report to this position face, and see them through till they are completed in a satisfactory manner.

    Work with multiple teams and departments to deliver cranes on-time, under budget, and at the highest levels of quality in addition to accomplishing goals for the overall Bigge team.

    Requirements/Qualifications:

    A minimum of 5 years experience as a crane mechanic as well as 2-3 years of previous supervisory experience is desired.

    Must demonstrate competency in the diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of various systems, including engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and LMI systems on various equipment lines.

    Exceptional customer service and organizational skills.

    Excellent communication skills.

    Proficient computer skills including experience with an ERP system, Smartsheet, MS Office Suite, smartphones, and tablets.

    The ability to train lower-level employees and first line supervisors.

    A high school diploma or its equivalent is required, Bachelors degree preferred.

    Must be able to troubleshoot minor issues over the phone and provide solutions to these issues.

    Scheduling Management.

    Quality People skills. Friendly, courteous, and approachable.

    Stress management skills are a plus.

    Ability and desire to work long hours, evenings, and weekends.
