    Primary Purpose:

    Identifies market trends for potential new business opportunities, develops business processes to ensure consistency and efficiency across assigned market team and

    leads forecasting efforts to improve NS profitability, revenue, and market share.

    Principal Duties:

    Coordinates the review of market trends, business developments, and economic conditions which impact the assigned markets.

    Develops a variety of reports using Excel and/or Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau to measure carload/revenue growth, profitability, utilization, billing disputes, and progress toward business plan goals.

    Identifies market trends to generate business growth opportunities.

    Devises and implements programs for business development to support reinvestment in freight cars and infrastructure.

    Develops information and facts to respond to inquiries from customers and NS mgmt. regarding impacts on business resulting from major events such as labor issues, accidents, merger activities, operational changes, and political activity.

    Acts as liaison between assigned group and other NS departments to facilitate process improvements and problem resolution.

    Job Related Experience:

    Minimum Level: 3-5 years

    Preferred Level: 6-10 years

    Education:

    Preferred Level: Bachelor's Degree (MBA is highly beneficial)

    Preferred Majors: Business

    Licenses / Certifications:
