St. Louis Developmental Treatment Centers (SLDDTC) currently has an opening for full time Physical Therapist. This position is benefit eligible and will work Monday - Friday, with weekends and Holidays off. The working hours will be 8:00am to 4:30pm; however, schedule flexibility is necessary to meet the needs of the facility. This position will work between both SLDDTC campuses (South County & St. Charles Habilitation Centers).

JOB DUTIES

This is responsible administrative and advanced technical work in physical therapy that is responsible for supervising and personal participation in the evaluation of clients and the administration of physical therapeutic agents prescribed by a physician.

Duties necessitate a high degree of technical competence in the demonstration of new techniques and in assisting when necessary in the application of various forms of treatment.

The successful candidate will provide active treatment to consumers using a Hoyer lift, stander, gait trainer, positioning devices, etc.

The candidate will also be responsible for providing consultations, documentation of notes, providing in-service training to staff and attending Individual Support Plan (ISP) meetings.

Work may include supervision of subordinate staff engaged in physical therapy activities.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
Physical Therapist

III:

Three years of experience as a professional physical therapist, including one year at the level of a Physical Therapist II; and graduation from a four-year college or university physical therapy program accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.

(Possession of a current Missouri license as a Physical Therapist will substitute for the required education qualification.) Must have a current license to practice as a Physical Therapist in the State of Missouri at the time of appointment

DMH employees who have had a disciplinary action within the past 12 months will not be considered.
