- Wire, install, troubleshoot, and test instruments and PLCs.
- Read and interpret diagrams and schematics to wire instruments and prepare sites for automation system design and programming.
- Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit.
- Install tubing for instruments and pull wiring through conduit, ensuring proper labeling.
- Connect wiring to controllers and instruments.
- Test continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components using instruments such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and ammeters.
- Mount instruments and PLCs in panels.
- Observe functioning of installed equipment to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement.
- Must have significant experience in a Journeyman role.
- Proficiency in bending and threading rigid conduit.
- Familiarity with tools such as a 555 conduit bender and other related equipment.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
- Travel may be required depending on project needs.
- Must be proficient with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
- Problem Solving: Identifies and resolves problems efficiently.
