    Responsibilities:


    Graduate Medical Education Associate Director Research works closely with the GME Research Director to oversee research education training, publications, scholarly activity and quality assurance and improvement work for residents, fellows, and faculty in our GME programs at SJMC.

    In addition, they will participate in mentoring medical students from our contracting universities in collaboration with residents with research opportunities.

    The assistant research director will help oversee research electives that residents may choose to take ensuring they stay on track and complete agreed deliverables.

    Conduct and oversee research based educational modules for residents and visiting students. Provide additional lectures and educational activities related to research topics, biostatistics, and data analysis.


    The individual will serve on the institutional Research Quality Committee, work closely with the hospital patient safety and Quality leadership team, will act as an institutional liaison to the regional CommonSpirit Institutional Review Board, and serve on Institutional Research Symposium Planning Committee.

    They will also seek to expand research resources by developing collaborative opportunities with affiliated partners.


    Assist and work closely with faculty and residents/fellows on research and QI projects; following the expected scholarly activity timelines as expected through training.

    Will provide ongoing feedback and mentorship to residents, students and faculty members. Aide with publications and poster preparation of scholarly activity. Participate in grant applications and grant associate work as applicable.


    The individual must have ability and comfort with data analysis, process documentation, critical analysis and review, and design with regard to health related data and translating clinical needs and questions into analytic questions and research designs.

    Will develop a strong working relationship with our affiliated bio-statistician. Will feel comfortable with representing data in reports, powerpoint, graphs, figures and tables.


    Qualifications:

    Education and Experience:
    Experience with healthcare datasets, electronic health records, and prior clinical based and quality research preferred.

    Bachelors Degree in a healthcare field, with 10 years of research related experience, with additional leadership or management experience may also be considered.

    Preferred Masters Degree or higher in research related field, statistics, informatics, or related field, with minimum of 5 years of related experience.
