    We are seeking a Data Engineer – Player Coach to build data capabilities and modernize our platform.

    In this role, you will ensure the core data components of our platform seamlessly integrate with our enterprise-wide Universal ID initiative (UID) and Unified Customer Profile (UCP).

    You will apply a variety of cloud-native (AWS) technologies to develop innovative frameworks and tools that facilitate data management for our platform and set us up for long-term success.

    You will reverse engineer existing on-prem data capabilities and enable migration to cloud.

    Also, in this role you will manage set of engineers as a manager with skill building, performance, and managerial activities.

    This position is a critical element to delivering Fidelity's promise of creating the best customer experiences in financial services.

    The Expertise and Skills You Bring
    Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technology related field (e.g., Computer Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
    Proven track record as a Technical Lead, crafting new solutions and re-platforming legacy data products.
    Experienced in managing engineers, removing their blockers to get the work done, skill development and risk mitigations.
    Excellent communication skills, both through written and verbal channels
    Ability to work effectively in global teams distributed across geographic locations in an Agile way
    Desire and ability to learn and implement new technologies.
    Keen ability to see complex challenges from multiple perspectives, and leaning in to solve independently or with others
    Hands-on experience building scalable, resilient, and cost-effective data products (preferably on AWS)
    Demonstrated experience developing, debugging and tuning complex SQL statements, and writing PL/SQL.
    Demonstrated experience in efficient programming using Python, Java, Unix, etc.
    Experience with DevOps or CI/CD Pipelines using Git, Maven, Jenkins, uDeploy, Stash, Ansible, etc.

    Demonstrated experience of how to effectively use multiple types of databases such Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.), NoSQL databases (DynamoDB, Elastic search), Distributed Database (CockroachDB, YugabyteDB) and Graph databases (Neptune, Neo4J, etc.)


    Thorough understanding of Data modelling and ETL/ELT concepts/tools.
    Experience in using Kafka Streaming/Messaging Technologies (or similar - Kinesis, SNS, SQS)
    Knowledge on Java and RESTApi for CRUD data operations, JDBC connection and log

    mining/troubleshooting

    for data APIs or data pipelines.
    Ability to validate, monitor, and solve issues during development, testing, or in production.
    Proven knowledge of AWS via Associate, Professional, or Specialty Certification(s) a big plus
