    Overview and Essential Functions
    The Telecom Manager is responsible for the timely completion of telecommunication construction projects in the Rochester, NY area. The Telecom Manager provides guidance for completing high volume projects and programs within budget.

    They provide leadership, coordination, problem solving, planning, and status reports related to those projects, as well as being an active participant in day-to-day project activities requiring immediate decision-making.

    The Telecom Manager communicates with all internal staff, subcontractors, and customers as needed.

    Responsibilities:

    • Full oversight of and management of Aerial or Underground Telecommunication construction projects
    • Supports the VP of Operations and works in conjunction with the Operations team with cost and schedule estimates, managing the queue of projects and materials and data needs for the projects.
    • Administers contracts including preparation and approval of change orders when appropriate. May participate in contract negotiations when necessary.
    • Prepares plans and budgets for projects. Monitors progress against plans, metrics, and goals including periodic schedule and cost reporting reports. Is responsible for the execution of those plans with the support to and from engineers and construction supervisors on the team.
    • Coordinates efforts and compliance of other internal departments. Holds regular program/project status meetings. Coaches and guides team members. Resolves disputes.
    • Secures necessary resources (internal and/or external) to complete the assigned project.
    • Ensures all monitoring documentation and controls are in place and properly recorded throughout the project execution and closeout.
    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
    • Project Management Certification a plus
    • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications.
    • At least 3 years of aerial/underground telecommunications management experience.
    • Fluent spoken and written English.
