**Job Description**

**AECOM** is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to be based in either our Clifton, NJ or New York Metro office and work on the structural design of buildings and transportation structures for a variety of clients.

The **Senior Structural Engineer** will be responsible for the following items:

Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer

+ Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures

+ Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests

+ Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments

+ Identifies discrepancies in results

+ Provides guidance to entry level engineers

+ Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision

+ Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works

+ Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position

**Qualifications**

Minimum Requirements :

+ BS in Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering or related discipline plus four (4) years of relevant experience in structural design of buildings and transportation structures or demonstrated equivalency of experience/education

+ Must have either ETABS or SAP experience to qualify for this position

+ Must be able to perform site visits to observe and report on construction activities and address field questions as well as coordinate design and construction issues

Preferred Qualifications :

+ ?PE License or the ability to obtain the license within 12 months of employment

+ Specific software experience in ETABS or SAP, RAM Structural, AutoCAD, SAFE, TEDDS, SAP2000, MathCAD, SpecsIntact, spColumn, spBeam, spWall, Enercalc

+ Revit experience is highly desirable

+ Masters in Structural Engineering

+ Eight (8) years of professional Structural Engineering design experience of buildings and transportation structures is preferred

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $90, $120,
