- Leveraging Agile application development framework, DevOp capability, USAID Cloud Architecture, and Cloud-native capabilities to transition legacy applications to efficient Cloud environments.
- Articulating the architectural vision, experimenting with alternative architectural approaches, creating models, and validating the architecture against requirements and assumptions.
- Conducting information technology readiness testing for all necessary equipment, software, and services required by BHA staff to guarantee reliable and timely services during disaster response activations.
- Collaborating with product developers, managers, and application experts to develop software products with necessary features and enhancements.
- Offering technical advice to stakeholders and integrating components developed by product developers.
- Assisting in migrating legacy tools to the cloud, introducing new capabilities for legacy applications and users continuously.
- Updating system architecture, design, configuration, and process documentation based on detailed requirements.
- Designing, developing, testing, and implementing new products, applications, and services according to approved requirements and architectural guidelines.
- Analyzing and suggesting improvements to existing software in terms of database performance, stability, usability, and scalability.
- Updating the Agency's ITSM Tool (ServiceNowTM) Technical Architecture Document (TAD) for major releases or upgrades.
- Engaging in Engineering Review Board (ERB), Architectural Review Board (ARB), and Software and Hardware Request (SHR) processes and meetings to ensure seamless coordination and information sharing.
- Expanding the utilization of existing software or modules to support ongoing projects, engagements, and new requirements.
- Collaborating with various teams including scientists, architects, developers, and scrum masters to integrate SaaS, PaaS, and COTS/GOTS product configuration with USAID infrastructure to meet security and audit requirements.
- U.S. Citizen eligible for U.S. Secret Security Clearance.
- Bachelor's degree with 8 to 11 years, or master's degree with 6 to 9 years, or PhD with 3 to 6 years' experience.
- Minimum 8 years of progressive software development experience, with at least 3 years as a Software/IT Systems Architect.
- Extensive knowledge of software and applications design, ensuring adherence to quality, security, and best practices.
- Proficiency in various programming languages such as Java, JavaScript, C, C++, Python, etc.
- Expertise in Cloud deployments, DevOps, Software Development, and Modern UI Frameworks.
- Knowledge of modeling and engineering methodologies like UML and DoDAF.
- Experience in designing modern applications deployable to Microsoft Azure and AWS Cloud.
- Recent experience supporting complex software development environments like USAID.
- Technical mindset with exceptional attention to detail, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to break down complex requirements into manageable features for other Software Engineers.
- Experience with Cloud Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud-based software applications.
- Microsoft Azure or AWS Architecture Certification or equivalent experience.
