Department: Supply Chain

Status: Hourly

Job Summary

Responsible for transporting goods in a timely and safe manner, with a focus on vehicles weighing under 26,000 lbs. (Class C). In addition to driving duties, this role will also involve supporting warehouse operations during non-driving hours. Assist and serve customers and other warehouse staff with customer requests in a distribution warehouse setting. Coordinating deliveries schedules to meet customer requests. Direct-to-customer supply and customer service are key responsibilities of this role, along with loading, stocking and/or shelving products, unloading products and materials, and helping with inventory. Helps keep warehouse and surrounding grounds/yard in neat condition.

Education and Experience Requirements

One year's experience in a warehouse or driving setting.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Proven experience as a driver, preferably with a focus on vehicles under 26,000 lbs.
Ability to lift and move heavy items, as required in warehouse duties.
Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Knowledge of the construction industry is a plus.
Must be at least 21 years of age.
High School Diploma or equivalent. ?Verifiable experience and training may be substituted.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Forklift Certification/ability to become certified (offered by employer)
Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assists with product information and customer service responsibilities in the warehouse.
Safely operate vehicles weighing under 26,000 lbs. to transport goods to specified locations. No CDL required.
Adhere to all traffic rules and regulations to ensure safe and timely deliveries.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any issues to the supervisor.
Maintain accurate records of mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery details.
Ships, receives, stores, and/or moves materials within the warehouse, loading area or storage area.
Verifies that orders are accurately filled. Ensures that shipments are properly packaged, identified with shipping information. Prepares and keeps records of goods shipped.
Drives forklift in a safe manner.
Keeps warehouse and outside grounds/yard clean and orderly.
Other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. Walking includes moving within a project site, including uneven surface/ground.
The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in a plant environment. PPE required when in the plant, yard, or construction areas include:
Hard Hat
Safety Glasses / Goggles
Steel-toed boots
High Visibility Vest
Hearing Protection (designated areas)
Gloves
Personal Fall Arrest Harness
