- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with visual impairments, in collaboration with other members of the educational team and parents/guardians.
- Adapt and modify instructional materials and teaching strategies to meet the unique needs of visually impaired students, utilizing specialized techniques such as braille, auditory instruction, tactile materials, and assistive technology.
- Provide direct instruction in core academic subjects, including reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies, using appropriate accommodations and adaptations as necessary.
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Visual Impairments Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Valid teaching certification/licensure in Special Education or Visual Impairments Education.
- Knowledge of best practices, instructional strategies, and assistive technologies for teaching students with visual impairments.
