Job summary
UPMC Harrisburg is seeking an experienced RN to join their Weekend team This position offers a night shift and may receive up to a $15,000 sign on bonus The Professional Staff Nurse will manage and provide patient care activities for patients and families through the application of independent judgment communication and collaboration with all team members Responsibilities include demonstrating passion for developing others precepting students graduate nurses and new hires Analyzing clinical and behavioral situations identifying learning opportunities to improve patient care practices Regularly seeking feedback on performance applying continuous professional improvement Supporting continuous learning in the clinical area by sharing research materials from professional organizations presenting on the unit supporting journal clubs etc Applying the nursing process within the framework of Relationship Based Care creating a healing environment Formulating daily goals and a plan of care for patients that involves the patient as partner considering individual needs Practicing solid communication skills articulating translating information needed to identify each patient s requirements relative to age-specific needs Creating caring compassionate relationships with patients families colleagues Role modeling keen cultural awareness preventing addressing horizontal violence impairment Maintaining balance between work personal life prioritizing delegating responsibilities Identifying opportunities for clinical quality workplace improvement Applying evidence-based practice regularly serving as role model professional nursing practice leading successful teams Demonstrating highly developed clinical assessment analytical skills participating in shared governance at unit level hospital-wide councils
