    Our client, an industry-leading commercial real estate company, is seeking to identify a

    Property Accountant

    to join the team.


    Salary/Hourly Rate:
    $65k - $75k


    Position Overview:
    The ideal Property Accountant will have Commercial Real Estate and CAM (Common Area Maintenance) experience. The Property Accountant will be responsible for a large portfolio of commercial properties and tenant payment management. The Property Accountant will work directly with the CFO and Senior Accountants on several duties.

    Responsibilities of the Property Accountant:
    Perform detailed CAM reconciliations for commercial properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with lease agreements.
    Analyze CAM charges and reconcile expenses against budgets to identify any discrepancies.
    Collaborate with the Property Management teams to address tenant inquiries and resolve CAM-related issues promptly.
    Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes efficiently.
    Monitor rent collections, follow up on delinquent accounts, and implement appropriate actions to minimize arrears.
    Process invoices, reconcile vendor statements, and ensure timely payments to vendors and contractors.
    Maintain strong relationships with tenants, addressing their inquiries, concerns, and requests professionally.
    Coordinate lease administration activities, including lease abstracts, lease renewals, and amendments.
    Collaborate with the Leasing teams to ensure accurate billing and timely lease commencements.
    Accurately apply cash receipts and deposits to tenant accounts, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
    Monitor cash flow and provide regular reports to management regarding collections and outstanding balances.
    Reconcile bank statements and investigate any discrepancies in cash transactions.
    Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
    Generate financial reports, variance analyses, and budget forecasts to support decision-making processes.
    Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.

    Qualifications for the Property Accountant:

    3+ years of commercial real estate accounting experience
    CAM (Common Area Maintenance) experience
    Yardi or MRI experience
    Strong attention to detail


    Education Requirements:
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business is preferred
