    St. John's seeks innovative, exemplary Learning Resource Teacher who is deeply committed to educational best practices and who share our vision of making St. John's the premier independent school in Orange County. This is an Academic School Year position and will report to the Head of Lower School.

    The duties listed below are representative of the general duties of the role and are not an exhaustive list, as additional duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

    E ssential Functions

    • Create lesson plans and provide small group remedial instruction in the areas of English language arts, mathematics, and other content areas as necessary.
    • In collaboration with colleagues, develops a well-rounded, comprehensive instructional program that incorporates the workshop model of instruction and reflects best practice by means of inquiry- and research-based approaches.
    • Utilize curriculum a n d assessment materials to promote and develop an intervention program that meets the needs of students identified for specialized academic intervention services.
    • Collaborate with classroom teachers to support students in the classroom.
    • Provide support to teachers in the areas of intervention and differentiation.
    • Collaborate with Student Support Services to identify, manage, and plan interventions for students, including behavioral, academic, and social emotional supports.
    • Collaborate with Student Support Services to identify students that would benefit from intervention and support services.
    • Maintain records of instructional plans, assessments, and activities.
    • Plan and prepare for differentiated instruction, assessments, and activities.
    • Engage students through the use of social-emotional approaches.
    • Maintain assessment records for each student.
    • Assist in maintaining grade-level web pages following guidelines provided by technology specialist.
    • Work cooperatively with administration and curriculum specialists to promote and enhance vertical alignment of curriculum across all divisions.
    • Work cooperatively with specialists, administration, and faculty to promote a positive work environment based on a growth mindset. Qualifications
      • Bachelor's degree in education; Master's degree preferred.
      • A minimum of three years of teaching in an independent school environment preferred and excellent verbal and written communications skills.
