    Jacobs Ohio Transportation Team is searching for a motivated Drainage Design Engineer who can utilize their technical and design skills to deliver highways-related infrastructure projects. This opportunity is your chance to work on multi-disciplined transportation projects that focus on highway, roadway, and interchange projects.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Perform civil design calculations, computer modeling, detailing, and plan set production for highway, roadway, sitework, drainage, detention/retention, and utilities projects with an emphasis on hydrology and hydraulics.
    • Conduct drainage design per the requirements of each project and various clients such as Departments of Transportation, Cities / Municipalities and private owners.
    • Prepare drainage reports, feasibility studies and drainage master plans utilizing drainage software - StormCAD, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, HYPoack, and MS4 solutions.
    • Utilize hydrology / hydraulic software - HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and SWMM.
    • Prepare engineering documents, construction cost estimates and attend kick-off and design review meetings, and interact with clients as level of experience progresses.
    • Provide mentorship and guidance to more junior staff and serve as an expert to highway and bridge designers.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering
    • Professional Engineer (PE) in Ohio
    • Previous professional experience in hydrology, hydraulics and drainage design for state department of transportation projects
    • Exercise sound judgment in the evaluation, selection and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria within the civil engineering discipline.
    • Knowledge of green infrastructure and sustainable design techniques as they relate to storm water management.
    • Working knowledge of CAD Systems - OpenRoads Designer or Civil 3D
    • Proficient in drainage software - StormCAD, CulvertMaster, FlowMaster, HY8 and PondPack.
    • Proficient in hydrology / hydraulic software - HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS and SWMM.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and technical writing skills.
    • Efficiently utilize time in executing assigned tasks accurately and on time.
    • Capable of performing Civil Engineering tasks in the fields of roadway engineering and site design when needed.
