    Job Title: Software Systems Administrator

    Purpose of Position

    Tasks and Responsibilities

    • Administering and maintaining various operating systems on multiple platforms.
    • Setting up and managing the software file structure for each project.
    • Configuring and managing simulator software including source control systems, software builds, packaging, and installation.
    • Supporting the installation and integration of device drivers for hardware interfacing.
    • Assisting in maintaining mathematical support library, systems utilities, and debug packages.
    • Evaluating hardware and software for production and development computer systems.
    • Ensuring the consistency and quality of simulation software packages on computer systems.
    • Supporting software developers in programming and debugging simulation software.
    • Documenting Policies and Procedures for training center technicians and developers.
    • Assisting in documentation for in-house and on-site training classes related to software/hardware.
    • Collaborating with software and hardware engineers for system integration.
    • Reviewing OS and simulation software logs to support co-workers.
    • Travel, shift work, and special hours may be required for specific tasks.

    Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

    SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    Experience in Fortran 90, C, C++; Unix (preferred); Workstation and Server Operating Systems; Scripting Languages; MS Dev Studio; MS Visual Source Safe and Team Foundation Services; MS Office including Power Point and Access; Familiarity with Emacs and VI.

    EQUIPMENT KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

    Proficiency in PC hardware, servers, networking hardware, and standard office equipment.

    Language Skills

    Proficient technical English in verbal and written communications needed. Excellent presentation skills for engaging with various stakeholders.

    Mathematical Skills

    Ability to work with probabilities, statistical inference, geometry, and trigonometry concepts. Apply mathematical concepts in practical scenarios.

    Reasoning Ability

    Problem-solving skills for dealing with various situations. Interpret written, oral, and diagram-based instructions effectively.

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES OR REGISTRATIONS:

    • Valid Driver's License where applicable.
    • Willingness to travel at least 75-80%.
