- Perform monthly account analysis and reconciliation, including balance sheet and expense accounts.
- Investigation/resolution of reconciling items on a timely basis.
- Process monthly journal entries as necessary to maintain accurate account balances.
- Support month-end, quarter-end, year-end close processes and preparing schedules for reporting and assist in explanation of monthly results.
- Conduct ad-hoc analyses to gain a detailed understanding of the financial results.
- Maintains the general ledger by reconciling and verifying the balances with ability to find and resolve discrepancies with minimal supervision.
- Ensures relevant information is obtained and processed in a timely manner and representations are accurate.
- Ability to take large data groups and perform variance analysis.
- Assist preparing financial statements on a monthly basis.
- Prepare information for annual audit requested by the auditors.
- Develop and document business processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
- Ad-hoc reporting as requested.
- Protect organizations value by maintaining high level integrity and keeping information confidential.
- Assists accounting department with other tasks and projects as needed.
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting (Required)
- CPA or CPA candidate (Required)
- 1+ years experience in accounting
- SOX experience a plus
- Advanced Excel skills including a high level of proficiency with pivot tables
- Strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP
- Knowledge of financial analysis and research procedures
- Ability to analyze data and draw sound conclusions
- Ability to work and think independently with ability to problem solve
- Ability to learn and follow procedures quickly
- Self-starter & team player
