    Description


    • Interviews patients and provides office duties such as vital sign measurement, pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height. All information, to include medical history, is recorded in patients' charts.
    • Explains clinic regulations such as payment of services, fee schedule and clinic procedures.
    • Enters patient admitting information into computer and books appointments.
    • ensures the speaker is the patient or legal guardian when necessary Compiles data for census records
    • Manage and resolve customer complaints Route calls to appropriate destination
    • Follow up patient calls when necessary
    • Completes Call Logs
    • Prepares treatment rooms for examination of patients
    • Drapes patients with covering and positions instruments and equipment Hands instruments and materials to provider as directed
    • Inventories and orders medical supplies and materials
    • Calls medical facilities to schedule patients for tests
    • Gives injections or treatments and timely logs this information as required
    • Schedules appointments for ancillary services
    • Maintains office and patient records
    • Responsible for maintaining equipment logs
    • Responsible for lab controls, in-house lab testing
    • Manages inventory and proper handling of stocked medications
    • Manages difficult or emotional customer situations and responds promptly to customer needs
    • Understanding of computer software and general knowledge of an electronic medical record program
    • Assists in all areas of the clinic as needed
    • Other duties may be assigned
    Requirements


    Education and/or Experience


    • High school diploma or GED, Medical Assistant certificate from college or technical school;
    • Medical Assistant certification from the certifying institution accredited by the Medical Assistant program,
    • BLS certification
    • Three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

    Medical Assistant Certification required and BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.
