- As part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, and technicians, you will develop an integrated manufacturing system leveraging innovative manufacturing processes to design and manufacture advanced space propulsion systems.
- Partnering with manufacturing and facilities, youll own the process to capture the manufacturing and facility needs, leverage Lean techniques, and create significant information for high-efficiency invention, evolution, and stable execution of advanced manufacturing processes.
- Collaborating with a cross-functional team, youll identify requirements and execute opportunities for data, tools, equipment, and workflow automation.
- Manage manufacturing-related projects.
- Achieve get-to-rate, cycle time and lead time reduction targets for the assigned work centers.
- Production Support- Production Scheduling, Theory of Constraints, Budgets and Forecasts, Crew Empowerment, Defect Analysis and Benchmarking Analysis, Resource Allocation, Scenario Planning, Discrete Event Simulation, Make/Buy Evaluations, and Cost/Price Evaluations.
- Process Improvement- Lean Manufacturing, Engineering Economic Analysis, Process Mapping, Root Cause Analysis, Statistical Methods, Six Sigma, Time Studies, Waste Reduction, and Work Sampling.
- Operations improvement- Ergonomic and Human Factors, Operations Plans, Recovery planning, Capacity planning, Capital planning.
- Integrated Systems- Value Stream Analysis, Facility Layouts, Production Systems Design, Manufacturing Process Design, Systems Thinking, Facilities Planning, and Requirements.
- BS in Industrial Engineering, Operations Research, Manufacturing Engineering, or related Engineering degree.
- From recent graduate to 1-2 years of experience working directly with manufacturing in a production environment.
- Experience in assembly manufacturing environments.
- 2+ years of factory flow and process modeling and simulations experience.
- 2+ years of experience leading continuous improvement and value stream mapping events.
- Strong analytic skills and a high degree of proficiency in data mining.
- Exceptional with Excel, manual data analysis, and other data mining tools (Python, R, SQL).
- Operations Management, Construction Management, MSE, and/or MBA.
- Project Management Certification (PMP).
- Lean Manufacturing Certification.
- Six Sigma Black Belt Certification.
- Experience transitioning development to production.
- Experience scaling operations from low-volume to high-volume manufacturing.
- Experience in aerospace manufacturing and/or facilities planning.
- Human-rated space flight production experience.
- Strong teaming skills.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing processes.
