Registered Interventional Technologist, DSA Special Procedures Full Time 80 Hours Per Pay Period Day Shift On Call shifts with a 30 minute response time With more than 30 specialties from Cardiology and Neurosurgery to Orthopedics and Vascular care Methodist Medical Center was one of the first hospitals in East Tennessee to offer cutting-edge treatments and technologies that benefit people with life-threatening aneurysms severely damaged knee hip and shoulder joints sudden heart failure and non-healing wounds Job Objectives Perform diagnostic imaging of patients Responsibilities Ensures correct usage of cardiac and vascular imaging equipment Monitors patients physiologically Maintains clean and orderly work area Monitors maintains aseptic technique within the sterile field Ensures computerized collection generation patient data Ensures correct usage of fluoroscopic cineangiographic equipment Performs imaging processing properly identifies patient images records Performs compliant coding billing procedures supplies Utilizes ongoing assessment anticipation patients emotional physiological needs Responds appropriately emergency situations Keeps abreast current developments Cardiovascular Interventional field include procedures equipment independent study continuing education Assists cardiopulmonary resuscitation Maintains Integrity Compliance Standards NON ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Other duties assigned HEALTH SAFETY COMPETENCE Cannot pose direct threat health safety self others Must provide safe efficient competent care customer or patient population assigned Must demonstrate competency unit specific functions described performance continuum skill lists standards Qualifications Education Knowledge Skills Must be graduate accredited school radiologic technology Must have working knowledge cardiac cath diagnostic therapeutic procedures cine film development pressure injector guidewires catheters sterile procedure techniques physiological data computer other equipment unique cardiac cath lab environment Must have knowledge cardiac life support respond emergency situations interventional areas For staff involved age-specific groups knowledge bio psychosocial needs adult geriatric pediatric patients essential Special knowledge growth development needs pediatric geriatric patients applicable Experience Experience use diagnostic interventional cardiac vascular imaging preferred Orientation given newly employed personnel as well educational preparation specialty areas Interventional Radiology Experience Preferred Licensure Certifications A For Interventional Radiology department Must hold current registration diagnostic technologist American Registry Radiologic Technologists R T R with current registry Cardiovascular Interventionalist CV or Vascular Interventions VI If not currently registered CV or VI must obtain this registry within months start date in the Department B Heart Cath LabMust hold current registration Registered Diagnostic Imaging Technician ARRT OR Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist RCIS OR Registered Cardiac Electrophysiologyst RCES As start date in the Heart Catheterization Lab One Basic Life Support ACLS certified at hire Staff will receive mandatory training for ACLS certification through Bridgepoint Health Compliances Requirements All employees are required wear personal protective equipment as needed Be able to lift up pounds assist clients safely maintain cleanliness during client visits Health Safety Competence The following applies passed skills check off sheet handover information received by employee on orientation is valid until completion competence checkoff sheet Otherwise retraining is required Once completed employee may sign verification form indicating they understand requirements requirements outlined above Important Skill List List below contains all skills that successful candidate should possess but are not limited basic job duties It is assumed successful candidates will acquire these additional skills if necessary
