• Must work during snow/ice season shovel snow from sidewalks and pathwaysThe core working hours are 7:30 am 4:00 pm, Monday through FridayThe hourly wage is $17.

20This position requires that the employee must successfully complete criminal history information background check and drug screening and be able to obtain and maintain a government security clearance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sweep and mop hallways, stairs, and officesEmpty wastebaskets and dispose of the trash in the prescribed mannerDust horizontal surfacesEmpty and wash ashtraysClean bathroomsWax and buff floors with prescribed buffersClean glass and windowsWash walls and other vertical surfacesSweep and clear snow from outside steps and sidewalksPolish kick panels, doorknobs, and other designated fixturesStrip and wax floorsVacuum rugsMix cleaning solutionsMaintain issued equipmentNotify supervisor when supplies and equipment are needed to perform tasksSnow removal is required at this siteAll other duties assigned by Custodial ForemanPHYSICAL QUALIFICATIONSThe incumbent must be able to stand 80% of the work time, walk 15%, and sit 5%He/She must be able to lift/carry 50 pounds and push/pull 50 pounds in order to clean work areas and handle supplies and equipmentMust be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reachAll of these requirements are necessary for using ladders and stairs, cleaning low areas, high areas, benches, and cornersMust be able to communicate with supervisors and co-workersMust be able to see, have depth perception and tell colors for safety reasons and to distinguish between chemicalsQUALIFICATIONSMust have three to six months training or experience, or be capable of learning to perform the essential functionsMust be able to pass security clearance for designated contractsMelwood is an Equal Opportunity Employer and a Drug-Free workplacePre-employment background checks, including E-Verify, are required for all employment positionsMelwood has an Affirmative Action Plan in placeEqual Opportunity Employer/Protected Veterans/Individuals with DisabilitiesThe contractor will not discharge or in any other manner discriminate against employees or applicants because they have inquired about, discussed, or disclosed their own pay or the pay of another employee or applicant.
