- Setup and Preparation:
- Arrange tables, chairs, linens, and other necessary equipment according to event specifications.
- Ensure the banquet area is clean, organized, and properly set up before guests arrive.
- Assist with the preparation of food and beverages as needed.
- Service:
- Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner upon arrival.
- Take orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring special dietary needs and preferences are accommodated.
- Serve food and beverages promptly and courteously, adhering to service standards.
- Monitor tables and anticipate guest needs, providing refills and clearing plates promptly.
- Address any guest concerns or special requests in a timely and courteous manner.
- Teamwork:
- Collaborate with other banquet servers, bartenders, kitchen staff, and event coordinators to ensure seamless service.
- Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate service and prioritize tasks.
- Assist with cleanup and breakdown of banquet rooms at the conclusion of events.
- Compliance:
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling and sanitation practices.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance at all times, including adherence to uniform standards.
- Follow alcohol service policies and procedures, ensuring responsible beverage service.
- Previous experience in food and beverage service preferred, especially in a banquet or catering environment.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- Lift and carry heavy trays of food and beverages.
- Bend, stoop, and reach overhead to perform various tasks.
- Ability to work in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot kitchens and crowded banquet rooms.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Food Handler's Permit or ServSafe Certification may be required, depending on local regulations.
