    Position Description


    As a Software Engineer III, you will help lead the development of a digital order book for additively manufactured components to support the submarine industrial base, which will expand to support all undersea and surface fleets of the the US Navy.

    You will work with a team of engineers and program managers to apply problem solving methodologies and design best-practices to create an efficient software-based supply chain tool.

    Authorities / Responsibilities

    Develop functional requirements for digital order book
    Work with defense supply chain procurement customers in the development of user requirements
    Select customizable off-the-shelf software solution for digital order book
    Collaborate with program manager to create a software development and deployment schedule
    Oversee customization of selected software tool to meet requirements
    Design test plan for digital order book software
    Execute test plan for digital order book software
    Develop training module for use of digital order book

    Qualifications / Knowledge / Experience

    Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or related discipline required
    Five years of industry engineering experience
    Subject matter expert in full stack software development
    Experience working with and developing digital work instruction and training tools
    Excellent written and oral communication skills
    Understanding of scheduling and an ability to adhere to strict deadlines
    Experience interacting with production personnel

    Additional Guidelines

    Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance
    18 years or older at time of application
    Able to provide proof of US Person status (permanent resident or citizen)
    No felony convictions of theft/deception or violent crimes within seven years from disposition date
    No felony convictions of drug crimes within three years from disposition date
    Willing to submit to a drug screen
    Willing to submit to a background check


    TOOLS:
    MS Office. Software development tools.

    Direction Exercised

    Will provide input to evaluations of Engineers I, II.
    Has authority to direct, evaluate and correct the work of Engineers I, II.


    LIAISES WITH:
    Engineers, Program Managers, Directors, GMs, Government and Military Officials, Customers, Regulatory Bodies, Program Management and Equipment Suppliers.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT:
    Office and production environments.
