- Perform laboratory tests (microbiological, calibration, chemical, sensory) to ensure quality standards.
- Prepare samples and sampling plans for analysis (chemical, physical, sensory, microbiological).
- Process incoming or outgoing equipment, verifying calibration paperwork and shipping instruments for external calibrations.
- Conduct chemical analyses using instrumental methods.
- Evaluate ingredients, products, or packaging materials for physical properties and compliance with standards.
- Prepare standards or standard curves for quantitative analyses.
- Interpret data from routine and non-routine analyses to validate laboratory equipment.
- Provide framework and tools for ensuring product quality.
- Perform statistical process control on plant equipment and processes.
- Prepare and maintain equipment used in the quality process.
- Report process data to ensure material quality.
- Perform data transactions for instrumentation using facility information systems.
- Support new product trials and protocol studies.
- Perform line checks to ensure product and packaging meet specifications.
- Operate lab testing instruments and maintain documentation.
- Comply with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safety Policies, and Procedures.
- Train new associates and cross-train in QA department responsibilities.
- Control chemical inventory and clean/sanitize equipment or areas as needed.
- Perform any other duties assigned to ensure product, process, and work environment quality.
