    My client the NTS-Group/ USA is an international first-tier contract manufacturer with headquarters in Eindhoven, the Netherlands. They develop, produce, assemble, and test complex (opto-)mechatronic systems and mechanical modules. They have a large international customer base and are currently expanding our team on the West Coast of the United States, with preference for candidates in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    Your Role and Responsibilities

    The NTS Group USA is looking for a Sr Staff Mechanical Engineer who will focus on the leadership and technical expertise of the design and planning of projects in the semiconductor and microelectronics markets and related customers across North America. The successful candidate must possess the drive, experience and charisma needed to secure a robust client base, deliver technical excellence, and expand upon the NTS-Group 's reputation within this market.

    You will help accelerate our growing business presence in the San Francisco Bay Area by supporting our sales team and by being the technical NTS expert for all engineering projects. You understand the customers' demand and decision criteria and can explain NTS' added value in technical discussions.

    As the Sr Staff Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for leading and developing highly complex products for our high-tech customers. You must be specialized in ultra-precision and structural mechanics and have affinity with the fields of mechatronics, cleanliness, optics and manufacturability. You will lead local and/or overseas teams of engineers and suppliers together with the Project Manager, System Architect, and the NA Sales Manager to assure timely and accurate delivery of our products.

    You will collaborate with the NTS Sales team to generate concepts of high-quality for mechanical and mechatronic modules/systems which will meet the customer's specifications within agreed scope, time and budget.

    Other Responsibilities include:

    ● Participating in and sometimes leading remote and local engineering teams or subcontractors

    ● Proactively identifying potential assignments for or on behalf of our clients.

    ● Supporting the Project Manager and System Architect during project execution and sales activities.

    ● Will be responsible for conceptualizing and starting projects that may be transferred to other remote NTS teams for completion.

    ● Determining & communicating the technical feasibility and risk assessment of technical concepts.

    ● Interacting with our overseas manufacturing and assembly sites to assure that the designs can be manufactured and assembled efficiently within manageable risk at competitive costs within specific timelines.

    ● Maintaining ongoing contact with customers, partners, and suppliers to ensure you have proper understanding of the challenges of our customers and the solutions we can provide in cooperation with our partners and suppliers.

    ● Staying informed of the latest developments in your area of expertise.

    ● Being part of competence development within the organization, within your specialization.

    Your Profile

    ● Must have bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering.

    ● At least 7 years of experience in mechanical system design.

    ● Must have Semicon or Analytical Instruments market experience and knowledge.

    ● Must have experience working with 3D design tools, preferably Solid Edge

    ● Experience in successfully leading a team of engineers.

    ● Knowledge of vacuum, cleanliness and mechatronics.

    ● Experience in working within a manufacturing environment.

    ● Must have strong communications skills both written and verbal, to be able to lead and motivate teams to collaborate on projects.

    ● Results and solution driven attitude, eager to learn and a strong team player.

    ● This is a hybrid position. You must be able to travel to various customer sites and also international travel will be required.
