Do you have extensive experience in the transportation and construction engineering and inspection (CEI) industry and searching for a more challenging and company-wide leadership role to advance your career?
S&ME has over 30 offices and is seeking our next Transportation Market Sector Director (MSD) to join our Executive Leadership Team to provide strong leadership, leverage their technical expertise, ensure client satisfaction, and implement best practices for our transportation engineering and CEI services across the company's footprint.
The successful candidate will be a visionary leader with a deep understanding of the transportation engineering and CEI industry, a proven track record of project delivery, and the ability to foster client relationships and drive business growth.
The Transportation MSD will report to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and can be based in any S&ME office location within our footprint.
What You Will Do:
Develop and execute a strategic plan that aligns with the company's goals and objectives to drive growth, backlog, and sales within the transportation & CEI sector
Coordinate and collaborate with Regional Directors, Office Principals and Service Line Managers to maximize cross-selling and integrated services to nationwide and regional clients
Direct market research teams and anticipate opportunities and trends to determine key investment priorities and capture strategy for key pursuits
Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key clients, understanding their needs and ensuring exceptional service delivery to exceed expectations
Collaborate with Regional and Office Leadership on strategic staffing needs to support key business opportunities with high profile clients
Maintain active involvement in at least one technical society or professional organization, serving on a committee or in a leadership role
Accountable for achieving the following KPIs: sales, bookings, burn rate, backlog growth, NLM, market share, client development ROI, client satisfaction, industry leadership, utilization of staff
Travel to office locations on a regular basis to be engaged with employee capabilities, monitor business and participate in client development activities
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field
Minimum of 15 years experience in transportation engineering, specifically with construction engineering & inspections (CEI), including 10 years in a supervisory or management role
Proven and successful track record in the leadership, management and growth of a business work group
Understand business metrics and
policies/procedures
around safety, human resources and risk management
Ability to direct multiple tasks simultaneously with effective delegation
Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve goals
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineers license

This is a full-time position with competitive pay based on experience. The successful candidate must meet the requirements of the company's Fleet Management Program, Substance Policy, and Reference Check Program.
