- Master's Degree in School Counseling preferred
- A current K-12 Michigan Teaching Certificate with a School Counselor (NT) endorsement
- Previous teaching experience preferred
- Excellent soft skills (Great team player, positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills, and solid organizational skills)
- Committed to continuous improvement through training and the use of technology
- Good public relationship skills
- Previous experience working with high school students, providing guidance on academic, social, and emotional issues, demonstrates the ability to effectively support students in school environment
- Knowledge of the academic needs of high school students
- All of the skills associated with being a high school counselor including, but not limited to: Personal, academic, and career counseling for students in grades 9 & 10.Presentations and scheduling responsibilities associated with grades 9 & 10.Credit audits and interventions for students in grades 9 & 10.BHS Testing Director, MME, WIDA, and AP exams. Personal Curricula and IEP attendance for students in grades 9 & 10.Homebound Instruction responsibilities for students in grades 9 & 10.District Homeless Liaison.Other grade 9/10 related counseling tasks as assigned.
