    Position: Assistant Safety Director

    Location: Philadelphia, PA

    Compensation: Based on Experience - Call for Details

    Responsibilities Include:

    • Actively supporting the implementation of our safety and loss control program and ensuring environmental compliance.
    • This role demands close collaboration with various stakeholders, including Company Departments, Organized Labor, Governmental Agencies, and First Responders.

    Qualifications:

    • A preferred Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent job experience.
    • Demonstrated self-motivation to independently identify, assess, and address safety and environmental matters.
    • Strong organizational skills and effective time management for overseeing compliance requirements.
    • Excellent communication skills to conduct educational classes, provide practical field training, and deliver job safety talks to a diverse range of employee backgrounds.
    • Positive attitude with the ability to professionally direct and guide employees from multiple crafts.
    • Assist the Director in managing department staff shift scheduling and on-call assignments.
    • Proficiency in occupational safety equipment and procedures, encompassing PPE, PITs, atmospheric monitoring, fall protection, and hot work.
    • Strong correspondence and computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.) with a willingness to learn additional function-specific software.
    • Working knowledge of State and Federal safety, health, and environmental regulations, with the ability to apply standards in a dynamic frontline setting.
    • Conduct accident investigations, determine root causes, produce detailed incident reports, track corrective actions, and assist in trending key performance indicators.
    • Active participation in and monitoring of a strict drug and alcohol program.
