    Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in sales and customer service management
  • 5-7 years of experience in steel service
  • 3 -5 years of experience with United States Defense sales
  • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration or relevant course of study, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to interface effectively with all departments to foster a success-oriented, accountable
  • Ability to communicate both oral & written effectively with internal & external
  • Strong understanding of customer requirements and market dynamics
  • Ability to respond effectively to time-sensitive and problematic & precarious inquiries and
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and generate valid & concise
  • Must be a self-starter with strong interpersonal
  • Represents the management in a highly professional manner, exercises diplomacy and maintains the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Proven leadership and the ability to motivate sales
  • Computer Literacy; Microsoft Office Products and
  • Metals USA offers a competitive starting base salary range of: $ 85,000 - $ 90,000 and benefits plus upward mobility professional growth.

    Military Sales Manager

    Metals USA is seeking a Military Sales Manager in Seekonk, MA. Metals USA is a solid, growth oriented, carbon steel (plate, beam and tube) distribution center servicing the defense, commercial, construction, aerospace and fabrication industries.

    The Military Sales Manager is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market. Staffs and directs a sales team and provides leadership towards the achievement of maximum profitability and growth in line with company vision and values. Establishes plans and strategies to expand the customer base in the marketing area and contributes to the development of training and educational programs for clients and Account Executives.

    Responsibilities:

  • Develops and executes strategic business plan to drive growth in revenue and
  • Develops and implements specific marketing and sales plans consistent with the growth and profitability goals for products.
  • Responsible for the performance and development of the Account Executives
  • Prepares action plans by individuals as well as by team for effective search of sales leads and
  • Contacts United States Armed Forces directly for
  • Contacts Primary Defense Contractors for possible business
  • Initiates and coordinates development of action plans to penetrate new
  • Assists in the development and implementation of marketing plans as
  • Conducts one-on-one review with all Account Executives to build more effective
  • Provides timely feedback to senior management regarding
  • Provides timely, accurate, competitive pricing on all completed prospect applications submitted for pricing and approval, while striving to maintain maximum profit margin.
  • Maintains accurate records of all pricings, sales, and activity reports submitted by Account
  • Creates and conducts proposal presentations and RFP
  • Assists Account Executives in preparation of proposals and
  • Controls expenses to meet budget
  • Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.
  • Ensures that all Account Executives meet or exceed all activity standards for prospecting calls, appointments, presentations, proposals, and closes.
  • Delegates authority and responsibility with accountability and follow-
  • Forges relationships with Outside Sales Representatives, Production Managers and Support Staff to ensure quality customer service and customer satisfaction.
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required for the duties of the Military Sales
  • Maintains contact with all clients in the market area to ensure high levels of client
  • Adheres to Reliance Steel and Aluminum's Code of Conduct as well as customer confidentiality

  • Physical Demands:

    Occupation requires being sedentary less than or equal to 75% of the time (

  • Stand, walk, sit, hearing, talking, use of hands and fingers, hand-eye coordination, reach outward, reach above shoulder, climb, squat or kneel or bend
  • Regularly required to work on multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions
  • Lift, cany, push and/or pull up to a maximum of25 without assistance
  • Travel required both vehicle and air
  • Work Environment:

    May be exposed to some of the following working conditions.

  • Position works primarily in an office/cubicle
  • Sales presentations via one-on-one/ conference presentations with primary decision-maker(s)
  • Constant Telephone Activity; high comfort level of initiating conversation
