Summary:
Cardiovascular Step-Down is a 31-private bed unit specialized in cardiac care for patients who underwent open-heart surgery.
We care for cardiovascular/thoracic patients and families post CABG, heart caths, valve replacements, thoracotomies, and other cardiothoracic surgical procedures.
We also attend to general medical-surgical patients with a primary cardiac diagnosis/history and co-existing conditions requiring telemetry monitoring, as well as patients on critical cardiac drips.
On Unit 41, we train our team to identify medical issues proactively to act promptly and confidently in emergent situations.
We provide numerous opportunities for assessments, patient/family education, IVs, wound care, lab value analysis, and medication administration/management. Our average nurse-to-patient ratio is 4:1. We offer flexible schedules and foster a collaborative team environment.
Communication and teamwork are highly encouraged on Unit 41, creating an engaging and fulfilling work environment for our healthcare professionals and patients.
