    POSITION OVERVIEW:

    The Contract Maintenance Planner is responsible for the vetting of third-party contractors prior to working on site as well as coordinating their ongoing work. Managing daily tasks by 3rd party contractors, such as project scoping, quoting the job, jobsite orientation, issuance of work permit, and follow up of punch list items.

    Duties / Responsibilities:


    • Incorporate safe behavior into all activities and consistently comply with all established safety and health policies and procedures.
    • • Ensures contractors comply with local regulatory and Ascend Elements safety requirements, whichever is more stringent
    • Works with corporate procurement to vet on and off-site vendors as qualified to work with Ascend Elements
    • Recognize and manage co-management issues.
    • Reviews and understands the scope of ongoing work.
    • Ensures continued contractor compliance with Site Contracting Strategy including training requirements.
    • Participates in pre-job meetings.
    • Verifies the contractor inspects their tools and equipment.
    • Monitors safety, quality, cost, and schedule
    • Monitors and documents changes to scope of work
    • Prepares contractor site access passes.
    • Ensures the site permit to work process is applied to contractor work.
    • Ensures the contractor completes thorough Job Hazards Analyses (JHAs)
    • Ensure all handheld electrical tools, hand tools, equipment e.g. Cranes, scissors lifts, welding machine, air compressors, ladders & scaffold materials are in good condition prior to being brought into the site.
    • Performs regular safety audit/workplace inspections and field walks.
    • Keeps record of safety audit/workplace inspections findings and follows-up for closure.
    • Signs and maintain time sheets, material tickets, documentation for Receipt of Service (ROS)
    • Assist Site CA resolves claims and contract issues.
    • Maintains daily reports of work.
    • Provides input on post-job evaluation.
    • The employee is committed to and must support the EHS management process to obtain the ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification as well as participate in system standards and practices in its compliance and commitment to policies, objectives, operational controls, documentation, system guidelines, and others that the organization subscribes to as mandatory.
    • Will participate in all EHS aspects, including reporting hazards, incidents, and injury/illness without fear of reprisal.
    • Must attend an Environment, Health, and Safety Orientation program appropriate to their work environment.
    • The employee must follow 6S step-by-step methodology to maintain orderly workspaces and resources thereby enhancing productivity and safety.

    Education/Experience

    • High School diploma with craft/trade or technical expertise
    • 3-5 years of manufacturing or related experience, with focus on maintenance projects.

    Required Skills / Abilities:

    • Process Safety Management (High Hazard Process/Low Hazard Operation) experience preferred.
    • Demonstrated ability to work with cross functional teams (both Ascend Elements and Contractor)
    • Effective oral and written communication skills, the ability to present information to all levels in the organization and address external organizations.
    • Strong desktop computer skills (keyboard and mouse) including Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
    • Capable of wearing task specific personal protective equipment which may include dust mask, air purifying respirator (i.e., half and/or full faced), safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, and ear protection.
    • Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs
    • While performing the duties of this job it is required to stand, walk, and use hands to operate objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands or arms; climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch when necessary for job activity.
    • Ability to stand and/or walk for extended periods.
    • Must be able to work in a variety of weather conditions and temperatures.
